Once you get to season 3 Babylon 5 gets so good, all the story threads start weaving into something bigger.

I'm also reminded that any episode with Bester is a treat. Walter Koenig clearly enjoyed playing the bad guy.

I was about to say, "Season 3 is when the actors and story really start to fly" in your other note. This was one of the first series to have story arcs, death of key characters, and no adherence to the "what about reruns?" paradigm.

JMS apparently also wanted to show people why a novel will never fit into a movie, and Babylon 5 is the example.

I'm still pissed off at whomever decided to not save the CG backgrounds in their full resolution. They look horrible compared to the original airing.

The special effects are dated, they remind me of PS1 fmv, but it has it's charm. It would be interesting to see a remake, but I fear it would be hard to catch lightning in a bottle a second time. Maybe with the power of AI it will become possible for fan edits to improve the graphics. The HD upscales of DS9 and Voyager are pretty good.
