I was about to say, "Season 3 is when the actors and story really start to fly" in your other note. This was one of the first series to have story arcs, death of key characters, and no adherence to the "what about reruns?" paradigm.
JMS apparently also wanted to show people why a novel will never fit into a movie, and Babylon 5 is the example.
I'm still pissed off at whomever decided to not save the CG backgrounds in their full resolution. They look horrible compared to the original airing.
