We should roll back segwit. It worked correctly as it was.
Segwit allows lightning channels. Not having an integrated layer 2 would increase the need for trusted mints. Essentially making your only fast market currency a coupon that has a custodial issuer.
Yeah. But there will be a point when fees on main chain are unsustainably low.
The fees are not the point of Lightning. It is anonymity, speed, AND the fees that make it worth the segwit upgrade.

I don't understand what "Unsustainably low" means. The price of money is subject to the maginal cost of production. If the fees are lower than the cost of electricity and miners, the fees go up. Miners can literally set fee limits. So, I assumed you were refering to the competition of Lightning because the other meaning doesn't make sense.
I like that there are two options.
I think Bitcoin and Monero and co-exist
