I’m not a tech person at all, and I might be totally off here, but I feel like even a centralized platform can censor an account it can’t identify.

For me, the real challenge isn’t whether censorship is possible without identity… it’s whether we’re actually building with that principle in mind.

Centralization can censor because it can “identify” both actors and content. Being able to identify some target is key to censorship.

That makes sense. It’s interesting to think about how much of censorship comes down to visibility and traceability, not just identity.
