On the Meyers-Briggs psychometric assessment, it's likely to be NTs, intuitive thinkers and perhaps NFs, intuitive feelers.

But NTs especially because their authentic but (sometimes) blunt and confrontational style fits their need for debate as a form of caring and intimacy. ENTPs, or NTs in general see debate almost as a love language, since they may think, "If you won't fight with me, how do I know you will stick around when things get tough?"

Speaking the truth bluntly is the NTs way of saying, "I love you. I care about you."
