Umbrel killed my second raspberry pi… I need to get smarter so I can figure out how to run one on a Mac mini instead
Discussion
You can boot Linux onto it and install the required software on that fairly easily, but how did it kill your raspberry pi? Is it completely unresponsive now?
A lot of the time the SD card is what shits the bed when running Umbrel, and replacing it with a fresh card with fresh software flashed on fixes critical problems. Obviously if you’ve already tried that then there’s something worse that’s wrong with it.
The first pi was fried probably from heat. Wouldn’t work when SD card was replaced.
The second one just kept getting stuck when syncing the blockchain, and I needed to junk the peers.dat file every few days. I got tired of doing it.
And I never made any money routing anyway. Phoenix and Wallet of Satoshi are just easier UX for checking account replacement.
