The public ledger should not even exist. Companies don't even keep sales records forever so why should the internet? This is a flawed design only to encourage the hacking of encryption. That's what mining is exploiting your pc & electricity to hack at an encrypted block of bytes for someone else somewhere over the magic rainbow to collect that info.
We need to recreate bitcoin without the public ledger... WAIT A MINUTE didn't they do that? XMR!
