Algo relays but using AI, not Nostr filters, as input. Maybe an extension for NIP-50.

I tried building this but wasn’t sure what I was doing

Basically a chatbot but for surfacing Nostr feeds. Could be a very minimal UI unlike any Nostr client that looks like a twitter clone. Potentially a brand new UX

This classification task should be so easy that you could probably do it with a stupid small on-device model!

Can you tap into Google Gemma on amethyst?

The hard part is to convert it into a Nostr filter to use with regular relays. The filters might not be able to represent the actual needs.

Running on the relay, though, the server can filter and order the events in any way it sees fit.

You can just filter the posts I've already downloaded. It's going to take ages until relays are capable of what phones are already capable of today.

Yeah, the issue is that not a lot of posts are downloaded. Searching the past is easy. But finding real time info to build cool new feeds requires downloading the entire last week of the relay and then filtering things out.

Is it not even worth trying? I follow so many people and I see so much trash I don't want to see!

Always worth trying. :)

I want to get this stuff from people I don’t already follow too though! A “For You” feed, which really blows up the amount of stuff I would need to download. Sounds like a relay or DVM task to me…

Feels almost incredibly hard to swift through everything, even just to get embeddings of everything without classification.

Even Twitter / grok can only do work on your own social graph afaik. It would either need an insane amount of money / compute or a few more years but maybe I'm wrong and you can get away with just crawling through some popular npubs and you're good.

It's a different problem altogether. I would start with the easier one which is filtering what I already have.

Yeah. I’m sure you can do some really simple heuristics (has profile, has posted in the last week, etc) to chop that number down a lot.

It's weird though, why someone would want decentralized social media only to post quotes, recipes, pets and tech news.

Advance voice feature on chatgpt is quite impressive. One could make an algo relay / client pair that allows one to interact with your network via audio only. You tell it what you want to know, get a podcast like audio feed, and then you comment and transcripts are sent as notes.

Thanks but no thanks
