It is more likely intentional.

China lifted the sanctions it had imposed on members of the European Parliament and their families, as well as on the Subcommittee on Human Rights, as announced on April 30, 2025, by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

The original sanctions were imposed by China on March 22, 2021, in retaliation for coordinated sanctions by the EU, the US, the UK, and Canada against Chinese officials accused of human rights abuses against Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang.
