Also Nostr: You better back up all your content so it doesn’t get deleted!

It's Schrödinger internet: it's gone if you need it, and sticky if you don't want it.

Wait, there is a delete button on Snort client ??? So it does not delete my notes ??

NIP-09 describes a kind of event (kind=5) which allows the author to mark a previous note as “deleted”. Compliant relays will not forward deleted notes. Compliant clients will not show deleted notes.

But implementation of NIP-09 is not mandatory, and even if it was, there’s no central authority to enforce it. https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/09.md

Ahhhh, #nostr is double-edged sword. Just trying it out now to explore its features. Speaking as a devil's advocate, can't bet on #nostr 100%, either it will slowly evolve in something else; or replaced by something new altogether.

I think Nostr (the protocol) will be with us for quite a while.

hopefully, but it will evolve drastically i guess

Of course! This is why it’ll outlast everything else.

Nostr separates three key things: identity, content, and client.

You can create your own identity (nsec/npub) offline. It’s owned by no one but you.

Your content lives on any number of relays. Relays have their own policies and compete for users.

You can take your identity and content with you to different clients. Client implementations compete on feature set.

This ecosystem affords permissionless innovation at multiple levels at all times. No other system has these properties. Any would be challenger has to face Nostr’s substantial first mover advantage.

perfect way to explain, thanks for post

They all confused haha

Nah authorities will have to learn IT first 🤣

In other words fuck that delete that shit sonnnnn

Gotchaaaa. Relays already purge stuffs as they please. Yessirrrr

I just wanted to rebroadcast all my typos
