I remember when Damus development was influenced by comments on nostr, but I guess now you have to join a developer call to have a say. Oh how things have gotten so much better!
Damus purple doesn't say you direct their development. It's voluntary, so you're supporting their vision. Some other project may take donations to direct priorities. He's saying if you don't support their vision you can get a refund.
Damus purple says they would work on new features but I’m not sure there ever were any new features! Translations was… it?
I am just one person who is building three nostr clients, a relay, a push notification server, etc. Many of our contributors are unpaid and working in their spare time. We are not just a single client doing a race to the top of iOS features. We have a bigger plan. Please join our call if you want to learn more.
Dude you’re the one that wants notedeck and an android client. Damus users just want Damus to be better. I didn’t sell subscribers a promise that I’d add more features as soon as possible, you did.
It’s been a year, where are the new features? And don’t say test flight or notedeck, cuz note deck doesn’t work on my iPhone, and you closed test flight after the promise was Made.

People need to touch grass or build their own NOSTR client. Lot of complaining from people that do nothing. Meanwhile devs are working for a fraction of what they could be making with a big tech company and all they get is complaints. I’m a proud nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 purple subscriber. Not because I use notedeck, but because it’s a small amount of money to support devs.
Honestly if it weren’t for the fact that i want nostr the succeed, the amount of stress from people saying you suck every day and are not working fast enough or on the right features is exhausting. I don’t know who would subject themselves to this if it was just for a paycheck, like you said i could be getting paid more elsewhere for a lot less stress and more time with my family.
I’m sure it feel very thankless at times. But for every upset user, there are multiple silent users who are thankful for the work you do. I hope you are able to silence the critics in your head and focus on doing the good work in this world. God bless.
