Damus is not generating much income yet. In addition, no income is generated from advertisements.

Either way, why are you okay with them taxing 30% at all? For the privilege of telling you what you can do and limiting innovation?

30% tax is too much for a start-up company. right now Damus can't afford it

30% tax is too much for anyone to pay, ever.

To play devil’s advocate. AAPL gives you access to 2B users. How much is that worth?

And how many of those 2B users care about or will use nostr or bitcoin?

So Damus bows the knee to appease Apple in the name of more users is your vision? What a fiat mindset.

No. I’m just playing devils advocate. nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 will eventually be web based. APPL can go fuck themselves

Yep, pretty much! And if utilizing Nostr to it's full potential as it grows is the draw to pull people away from Apple, so be it! They won't change, they will only continue to take. So starving the beast is the only option.

"Apple gives you access,.."

You see that's the problem, you're still waiting for someone to give you access.

I am not agreeing with AAPL just trying to look at this from their perspective. AAPL can go fuck themselves for all I care

Their perspective:

Considering that you guys can transfer money without a trusted 3rd party, we can see many creators jumping over to cut out us, the middle man, from our lucrative monopoly on app distribution.

We will cut off your head to protect our services segment, as it is the main driver of our stock price.

If you have any complaints,

Get fucked,

Sincerely,

Tim Cuck

They shouldn't have to, you're right, but I don't mind working together if it's a viable solution. This allows people in the developing world to easily stack sats. That's powerful!

People in developing countries are mostly not using apple products though...so funding a giant corporation that's hostile to the core concepts of bitcoin and Nostr just to enable people who like walled gardens to play seems somewhat counterintuitive πŸ€”
