Can anyone suggest ways to get normies to #nostr??
I mean like people who just love to live normal simple life, work for their family, go for a vacation, care for the society and spread love.
What do we tell them is the benefit to join #nostr??
Is #nostr only for #devs and #builders ??
Developers don't fucking care. They're too busy trying to use nostr to get a name for themselves.
They don't give a shit.

The majority of users here don't help either. The constant flood of bots, cringe bitcoin memes, and inability to gain traction by posting normal stuff.
"Alternative social media" won't gain traction with normie because its so difficult to join or create like minded communities without being bombarded with nagging, politics, or news.
Any new place pops up everyones so eager to make a name for thenselves. The problem is every developer is working on the wrong thing. A better social... Social networks aren't the problem the problem is all these developers are monkey see monkey do. They just copy what proprietary companies do & go well it's opened sourced.
Like who was the fucking moron that invented the upvote downvote karma system redshit has? Idiots like it & now they want it in open source socials. What about the reelfeed in instagram above your feed? Another idiotic idea I don't need a small rectangle below my nav giving me a second feed of videos on one page.
Then you got these new devs well lets just make a new social & copy everyshitty thing they did. How about you be original & not create another social network? Now you won't be apart of the problem. A new social network is a new problem & all it does is benefit proprietary companies because it's new territory to stomp their feet on.
If I could control every developer on nostr. I would have them develop the one thing that would actually be beneficial to everyone & create opportunity to make money. Thats..... well if I told you then you might steal my domino plan.

Part of me thinks that it is like some folks say about Bitcoin and the yuppie elite.. they are comfortable enough for now and don't see the problem, so they don't seek a solution (even though there IS a problem). Until mass groups of regular folks get deplatformed (not even close to that yet, as long as they can post pics and videos of their dogs and tits), they dont see a reason to change. They don't get the principle - the big picture - that censorship and propaganda are unacceptable tools of the state, enabled by platforms, which comes and go. As long as it happens to someone besides them, it's easy to ignore.
I'm on satellite, that's a big step towards making it more accessible. I think Alex Gleason's new project will be another step.
Even devopers aren't always developers. At some point people want something user friendly.
