Classic selection, lovely
I refuse to watch A Wonderful Life. Ever.
I've managed to never watch it. But I was thinking about giving in this year. Seems to divide people. 👀
So saccharin it'll give you diabetes, less believable than Dark Angel.
If you want B&W, at least enjoy yourself. The Coconuts or The General.
Seen The General, will have a look at The Coconuts. It's one of those I feel I need to watch even tho I e heard this as a major complaint. Likewise, feel like I need to watch Casablanca and Gone with the wind
I don't understand that as a complaint against The Coconuts. It's The Marx Bros. at their peak (IMO).
I definitely think Casablanca is a must-watch. I push back against this meme it's the greatest piece of cinema. But at the same time, a ton to recommend, including more complexity and subtlety than was typical in that age.
Gone With the Wind.... It's a movie. I would say if you don't adore period pieces, it's a skip. Costuming is great.
Oh sorry, I was referring back to It's a wonderful life with the saccharine complaint.
Just realised I've seen The Coconuts:) I'm sure there's a couple of theirs I haven't seen tho 👀
I apologize for my misunderstanding.
I find Night at the Opera borderline watchable, and everything after no good.
If you've not seen Animal Crackers, do so.
I'll have to double check. It was many years ago, remember having some sort of box set.
Planning on watching a lot more classics. So many I haven't watched, including Lawrence of Arabia! For shame 😭
It's a masterpiece
No movie so diametrically opposed to reality is a masterpiece. If you want sci-fi, watch sci-fi.
It's a heartwarming story about miraculous events changing a mans life, stfu and gtfu
Which basically don't happen. Cope harder.
Oh okay, and the events of Die Hard and Home Alone are totally realistic and believable...
They're fucking Christmas movies, get in the goddamned spirit, ya Grinch.
While religion is detestable, I love Christmas.
I literally said it's effectively scifi. You're angry without actually reading what I wrote.
But, yes, I find discovering the warp drive more realistic than the humanity of a town coming together as a whole to save a dude. Were you perhaps in some obscure forest village for the past three years?
OK so you hate the movie cause you think people are incapable of charity. Got it.
And wtf is wrong with it being a sci-fi? Do you hate all films of mixed genres, or just the ones with happy endings?
So, reductio ad absurdum. Cute. Dishonest, but cute.
And you did not address my question.
