And that leads me to one of my fav tracks by the great Future Sound Of London. This one contains a Vangelis sample from the seminal Bladerunner soundtrack.

Oh yes. Nothing quite like FSOL. Thanks for that. I'm in a Future Sound Of Rabbit hole now...

I thought you were a bot 😅

Cascade though, bombaklat.

🤌🏻

Everything they did in the 90's, my friend. They changed my life.

I remember watching this interview about how they had their studio setup with microprocessor record the outdoors which was the sounds they used for their productions.

Blew my mind.

In some ways they were ahead of their time, or everyone else was behind theirs - I'm never sure which way around that really is. They were online in 1996 and transmitting entire shows via ISDN a couple of years later. They did all this amazing exploratory music on low-end gear. They worked it really hard and achieved that incredible sound that blew everything else out of the water.

Fun fact: Lifeforms is an audio description of an Ayahuasca journey. Did you ever see the vid?

Long long long time ago, when it was popular on MTV.

Although the recent producers that have impressed the same way FSOL has, is breakage and burial.

Such a delightful remix

I love the little 30 second pieces Burial puts at the end of his tracks. They're like little whispered secrets.

Right?!

Burial & Untrue as albums are just masterpieces.

“…and I swear, it wasn’t my reflection..”

Unique and untouchable.

Not at all, big fan.

FSOL are one of the most underrated bands from that era and they're still putting out great stuff. Is this mix from a single or did they do another remix project like they did with Yage and We Have Explosive?

This one is part of the original 1996 My Kingdom single from the Dead Cities period. I'm pretty sure there are other mixes out there though.

Yeah underrated is an understatement. They are something else. There's nothing quite like FSOL.
