Thanks Farooq.

Sounds nice, but what does it really mean? Just like with religion, there is an overlap where it and the gov overlap. How do you resolve financial disputes? Hope does commerce take place? What are the rules of engagement? When does someone have the right of refund, etc? None of which is explained here, Abbas this is the problem I have with these types of claims. I do agree that the gov shouldn’t be involved in everything, but that doesn’t equal being involved in nothing.

Say you code the nostr version of github and collect the billion sat bounty.

This is an example of the total seperation of money and state. Once you build the github replacement, who can sue you after the fact? What government should you pay taxes to? Which currency must you buy to pay this ransomeware.

Ask yourself, "will I buy this currency that is backed by nothing and they can printo out of thin air to pay the ransomware of this government?

If the answer is yes, there is no seperation of money and state.

If the answer is no, you have seperated your money from the state.

What’s happened here is that there have been some activities mentioned here, all of which is not disputed. Yes, which currency I choose to use in an exchange is between me and whoever, and if someone promises to give me some bounty on the completion of some work that’s all good. Taxes, as a Muslim I don’t agree with that either as that’s an overstep from the gov. But let’s switch the situation. Say someone announces a bounty, you fulfil it and then they refuse to pay, or you pay for an item and it was clear they cheated you or left out important information about it, you now need the state to step in and resolve that according to some sort of rules. That’s my point. You cannot fully separate state from the economy as the role of the state is to resolve disputes. That’s one of their largest jobs they’ve been tasked with and makes us different from living in a ‘mad max’ situation where we can only enforce things with the weapons we carry on our sides and how fast we can draw it.

Bitcoin is only a tool used to facilitate an exchange of value for goods and services, it cannot guarantee anything outside of that exchange. ₿itcoin cannot verify that a refund is due nor can it see or someone was cheated in a transaction. It can only carry value.
