"What’s your opinion on Bitcoin and its relationship to Christ and being a Christian?"

Math is the language of God. Bitcoin is based on math. There also is a humbling factor to bitcoin that I have yet to fully process but it feels like a calling from God to be Christ-like. In my reading of the Gospel, many times Christ espoused humbleness and service to others. But when it came time to drop truth bombs, no punches were held because the truth is righteous and good.

Just my two sats.

Also. Having studied complex systems and protocols. No fucking way this shit just happened to all line up. Intelligent design makes sense to me more than in the past. Especially when coupled with evolutionary iteration. The same thing happens in software. You start small and build and abstract until the resulting system is beyond comprehension without deep and rigorous study. Much like nature and our world He gave us.

This all coming from a former vocal atheist that read a few Richard Dawkins books and had all the logic 'figured out'.

Also, tangentially, my quality of life and relationship with my family and others has improved a lot since returning to Christ as my Savior.

And it's fun because Jesus got mad one very distinct time in the Bible. And it was to throw out the immoral money changers from the temple. I see parallels to bitcoin there.

Have you read any of Stephen C Meyer? He's like the only guy questioning the theory of evolution and the theory of evolution literally doesn't even show up to fight. It's dead.

It’s not this simple!

Yes, but the nuance is for the book, not for a tweet 😄🤙

Grumble grumble.

Love the bias here. Clearly if it's scrutinizing an admitted theory that actually falls apart under any scrutiny, then it must be pseudoscience!

Lol yeah he jokes about his wiki. It's crazy how desperate people are to protect failed science. Not allowed to question evolutionary theory, even though it was proposed 100 years before we discovered DNA

You will be surprised how much Bitcoin aligns with Islam and Islamic Finance.

Similar set of values and implementation.

The similarities are striking.

Totally agree! State propaganda has divided humanity too much. We're all too similar and believe much of the same at our core. Bitcoin highlights this.

Bitcoin is an agnostic tool.

The danger is in humanities proclivity to worship wealth.

Too many praying to the "Golden Calf" of the bull run.

Bitcoin was a big part of my rabbit hole journey which ended with me finding and accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

God is sovereign and all things are his will.

Amen, brother. 🫂

Bitcoin ethos: "don't trust, verify"

Fundamentally incompatible with

"Have faith, don't look into it".

Genuinely curious how religious people square that circle. Makes no sense to me.

Have you studied complex system design?

Studied biology.

And I am not trying to kick the hornet's nest.

Just seems like a contradiction.

Ack. Trying to understand your frame of reference.

How deep can you verify how biological systems work? At what point do we start to lack understanding?

Well, as an example of decade ago undergrad (adult day care) we verified by experiment how far apart certain genes that code for certain traits are from each other on an a single arm of a Y-chromosome.

You are right that we don't know everything. And/or can't necessarily explain everything.

A few hundred years ago we didn't have microscopes. So didn't know about microbes and germs. Diseases were curses and nonsense like that.

We do always run into brick walls where either out tech or our understanding stops us. But over time those walls hopefully get further and further out.

Just because we don't have everything figured out, doesn't mean we should default to some 'omniscient god did it'.

If you use 'it is too perfect to be coincidence, it must have been (my) god', then that same reason applies to every other god.

I don't really want to get in a huge debate about this. I have to go back to work.

I appreciate your good faith responses, I doubt either of us will convert the other. So I say we agree to disagree. Plus I want to get back to my real Nostr account, not this sock puppet.

Have a good day sir. I wouldn't have seen this post if I didn't follow you, and I wouldn't have followed you if you didnt have thought provoking content that was boosted towards me.

Religion has been perverted by the fiat lie.

If there is a creator, they clearly favor dynamic, balanced systems. Over time men, have not. Men crave control and have perverted their understanding of creation on their seeking of control.

Bitcoin is digital nature: self-balancing and incentive-aligned across the counterparties who secure and ultilize it. Bitcoin is divine in that it seeks to mimic nature.

You gotta realize you're parroting a straw man argument which misunderstands faith. Find the steel man, and you will answer your own question.

Have you read Thank God for Bitcoin? It contains some ideas connecting Bitcoin and God. I particularly liked the idea it presents about Bitcoin solving some of the “moral hazard” that fiat money is susceptible to.

Been having similar contemplations about the correlation of the Christ Consciousness and the potential of this freedom tech.
