I built a black soldier fly larvae thingamajig. Now that it's warming up here in going to start capturing them soon. Hopefully it works.

I went in with a group on a "Protapod." I set it up about a month ago. #grownostr
Our group ordered like 12-15 and had them freighted in. About 1/2 the price of ordering individually.
I used this pdf as a guide, but mostly I winged it.
The most critical part is the ramp angle of 40 degrees

Sorry to keep posting on all your pics here but you share interesting stuff! I want to grow BSF but I’ve never seen them here (zone 5 northern Illinois). Do you know if they’d survive here or if its worth it to start a new colony every spring? My quail love to eat the freeze dried ones but they’re $$$
Where did you get plans? Suggestions?
I have been doing BFL for several years. FYI- They love Avocado & Artichokes for laying eggs. But will eat anything of course..
