i dont think so no

and i shouldve formulated the former note differently:

if you lose your nsec to your npub, you have to generate a new key-pair (ie. an nsec (priv key) connected to an npub)

And these profiles or user names that are labeled in animal-adjective how can they be created?

the animal adjective thing is iris.to client-specific, i guess

the public keys (hex) is the same as npub, but formatted differently

you couldve used https://damus.io/keys to convert them back and forth, but it is taken down i see

you can also use other github tools to convert them back and forth in the different formats, if you wanted for some reason

hope this is correct so do doublecheck with someone else/or if anyone reading this plz check

It's best to sign in with your private key via an extension like nos2x or Alby so that you don't have to enter your private key into a website.

Your NSEC private key and HEX private key are the same private key. They are just in different formats. NSEC is easier to tell that it's different from NPUB right away. Whereas with the HEX version of public and private keys, you can't tell the difference.

The directory isn't the best indicator as people switch their NIP-05 ides from time to time and some users still don't show up in our directory. It's a small subset, but we're missing a few due to relay issues.

well, one is a transaction ID of a bitcoin transaction and the other one is a public key for the nostr protocol.
