Security precautions still apply. You don't want anyone else having access to your node. If that happens you could easily lose money.

If you are using someone else's Bitcoin node you are trusting them to tell you the truth about the state of the blockchain. It's probably better to run your own as well. Pick the node you trust carefully if you do this.

Running a VPS securely is possible, but if I was inexperienced with Linux I would do a lot of research first.

its custodial (they hold the keys!)

but you can create, destroy and manage your own node in a nice UI for not a lot of sats.

you pay for uptime.
