Many repeaters use older equipment Therefore, there won't be any "data" or support from those companies. Many repeater owners can't afford to purchase the new equipment. So we are on our own.

The repair/op/maint. manuals spec out receiver adjacent spec which does not address what you folks are trying to do. It's not only modulation; just a carrier close by in frequency is a problem.

There's many repeaters that are analog/normal bandwidth and will get interference at some point. By then it's too late. Just set your older radio 15 KHz away from a local repeater and listen. It's LMR basics.
