That sounds like a good option. I can make the transition slowly, so that people see the new name and associate it with BTCapsule, and then eventually change it altogether.

Yeah I think it might be a bad idea. I came to nostr because I saw Bitcoiners were coming, and thought they might like my inheritance program. I never imagined I would love it so much. I need to think about it some more.
What if you run two accounts? To make things easy, change one (or a few) characters in your nsec. Link the accounts profiles BTCapsule will stay alyf fo-eh-va 🤙💜
That might be a good option. I have way more followers than I ever thought I would get, and I’d hate to start all over. At least I could try that, and if it doesn’t work out, then I still have my original profile.
Yeah, when I first got onto nostr, my name was blockclockapp, realized real quick that wasn’t the direction things were going..
I think I’m just too late to be changing my name, but we are still very early. But I’m going to have to change it eventually. What if I create a micro app like you did? I would definitely want my name to reflect that. As long as my public key is the same, I think it will be okay. And I am contradicting myself in this single note because I don’t know what to do 🤣
Think of all the niche things you can do to help nostr grow, and make a micro-app, ‘business’ out of that maybe? Something more closely aligned to nostr? There’s all the art of course, badges, Lightning store, fomo21, paid node runner, start another upload app, online store, I have a friend that is doing pretty good making and selling beef jerky. You can literally change your name until you find your fit, who cares.
Yeah, I think I’ll do it slowly. I just found out that if I change my name, then it changes all the notes I’m tagged in to my new name. So no matter what, the note that says I’m the owner of 2008.jpeg will always have whatever name I choose. That’s the most important thing ever 😂

Maybe I’ll just change my name to Capsule 😂 that’s what everyone calls me anyway. Someone once told me they thought my name meant to be orange pilled, so maybe I’ll just change my pfp to an orange pill
Do it step by step?
First change your display name and keep the @name + NIP for few weeks. Once everyone knows you by your display name, then also change your NIP
Yeah I’m gonna start slow. I think it will get changed eventually. I may not even use that name. I’ve created a lot of different identities online over the years 🙃
