How do DMs on nostr work??

I replied to a DM using Amethyst.

My reply doesn't show up in any other nostr client, ever. Refresh. Restart. Nothing. It looks like I ghosted them.

My reply sometimes shows up in Amethyst. Sometimes it doesn't. I can't figure out what makes the reply visible sometimes.

I have no confidence the recipient has seen my reply. Or that it was even sent out to the network for that matter. If I saw my reply in at least one other client that would give me some confidence it was sent.

What would you suggest?

It's alright, i understand. Can you maybe copy paste the reply to primal that's what am using.

I sent a reply with a screenshot of my reply. Sent it via 0xChat client since it let's me send images. Primal won't let me send images. And Amethyst isn't currently showing my reply so I can't copy/paste the text into primal.

It only shows the original inbound message I received. It doesn't show my reply to that person. My reply was sent back in December 14. At least I think it was sent. 🤷‍♂️ Not a lot of confidence.

Do you have the same message relay? Private message relay, that's what yakihonne calls it.

I know what you mean. If DMs are important to you, you can try the app 0xchat. It's primarily for DMs via nostr.
