I like reading quantum information books because it removes the woo and physics from quantum mechanics, and shows that the universe can be used an interesting computing device that is more powerful than classical computers in some domains.
I really liked quantum computer science, it even goes into implementing shors algorithm.
Quantum theories seem more suitable for information/logic than particle physics to me anyway. The fact that physicists try to bridge them feels forced.

would you consider reading these books yourself? I’m just not sure how credible this Kaku guy is, and I hate wasting my time & energy reading if it’s not a credible source.
kaku is the worst possible source to learn physics from
I prefer susskind, feynman. brian greene is quite good for high level string theory stuff, actual string theory technicals is quite difficult.
Useless stuff in practice. Kaku is an entertainment genius cause he managed to make it not absolutely boring. I suppose that's the only practical utility of string theory: selling documentaries on the History channel.

I’ll check these sources out, Thankyou 🤙🏼

I once watched a documentary of the history of string theory that made the case string theorists have never actually made any empirical ground and they're always promising results for funding that they never deliver on.
What do you think of it, aside from a casual interest?
