Trying something new with nostr:npub10qrssqjsydd38j8mv7h27dq0ynpns3djgu88mhr7cr2qcqrgyezspkxqj8 now that I’m hosting with nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 — “early access” and “ad free” episodes.

As is implied, if you’re a paid subscriber supporting the show, you get access to the episodes early and can listen without ads. If not, you get the episodes a day or two later and listen with ad reads as usual.

The not a fan of the become a paid subscriber because if everyone does it, it becomes to expensive to subscribe to every podcast. I've never subscribed to a single podcast and not plans to.

I'm also not a fan of those sneaky advertisements where the podcast is talking about the topic then sneakily starts talking about a product. I eventually lose interest in those type of podcasts.

I think the nostr model is better where we can listen to it for free and we can zap an amount of our choice.

Fountain and WavLake are the future, You can listen to the song and zap. I also think maybe in the future artists should demand to the app developer where if you listen to a song over 50% it should automatically deduct some sats so the artist and app can make money.

We also need a YouTube replacement so anyone can upload their podcast and users can zap.

I also noticed your website doesn't have a way to zap each individual podcast. Might be good to add that but of course where do most people listen to podcasts? Probably not on someone's website but still might be good to ad.

subscription models and ads are not the future, but of course you know your listeners more then me. Maybe they like subscription and advertisements.

all of my episodes are live streamed to nostr before they are published anywhere else. You can watch all of my episodes *everywhere* for free once they are published (i.e. after the nostr live stream). On fountain, you can zap each individual episode. I don't have this capability on my website because I don't need it. Listeners can simply zap me on fountain or on Nostr, which are both linked on my website.

Everywhere is still able to "listen to it for free and we can zap an amount of our choice" but now if you want to support the show on a monthly basis you can become a paid subscriber and get some extra perks. Hope that clears things up.
