Trimmed it a bit...

#Twitter adoption in the early days was instrumental in training many to become economically minded in character usage while conveying a point.

140 characters to make your point and that's it.

There are many good behaviors that came out of that. Think emoji and maybe a few others.

Conversely, I also think it played a role in this "gotcha" positioning which has largely infected traditional media and the #algos they've built around their media outlets.

Inflammatory "gotchas" & whacky claims drive engagement.

Engagement drives add revenues.

Add revenues drive investment opps.

Investment opps drive VC low time preference objectives.

#Nostr can fix this by bringing nuance back into these discussions.

A communication tool that limits communication is retarded by definition.

💯 it takes a while for some to realize the end destination of this product roadmap is that it becomes the ultimate data harvesting app which is easily exploitable by any state actor.

I personally try not to spend to much time ranting on extinct birds.

But there are active discussions taking place on #nostr about #algos and it's clear to me their is a lot of trauma which has been carried over from legacy media apps.

But it's my personal opinion that algos by themselves are not a bad thing.

It's just tech, tech makes us more productive...generally.

The reason why this tech was/is bad on legacy media platforms is bc it was opaque and selectively administered by a centralized institution and not by the users.

On #nostr we have an opportunity to leverage this tech to our individual benefit.
