Sweet. I’ve got a friend that became a fire-ee (aussie abreviation and pronunciation) and had loved it. Early days but early signs are good. Unfortunate it results in gov serfdom.

I am super exited! Where I am from, all fire fighters are volunteers, so it’s really about serving your community instead of the overarching government. Of course they still depend to some degree on state funding.

i'm sure it'll be awesome. and completely agree, being in sevice of your community is fucking awesome, and if it weren't for fiat everyone would be more than happy to pay for your service.
