We posted treasures.to on Reddit. They are coping hard. They're mad. We pissed them off! šŸ˜‚

"Do I need to know (or care) about whatever the heck nostr is?"

"Another idiot who doesn't grasp that the reason Geocaching exists as an ongoing sport is because of the support provided by "corporate platforms"."

ā€œBut you need users… Can’t just materialize out of thin airā€

- Reddit user

Yes, this is why we build on Nostr

Good luck getting content types like this to go anywhere without communities to plug them into.

Or.... They could just hide some stuff and post it to Treasures. Now get out there and find the #onepiece

That doesn't :AirQuoteLeft: just :AirQuoteRight: work.

You run into all the same problems your Twitter-clone feed has. With less data and options.

ā€œPeer review to approve cache hidesā€

This is treasure hiding, not tagout. You don't need a 2nd independent signer.

Never spent time on a ship so the tag out joke is over my head.

Never???

On a destroyer tied up once. I was a dirt sailor.

I don't actually know what you *do* with geocaching. I'm too scared to look as I might get too into it.

Its like your niche internet content, except you plant the equivalent physically for other nerds to find.

What do people leave?

Cassette tapes with dungeon synth on them usually

Lolol

A pre-recorded nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 livestream would be an excellent choice as well

I just need to livestream on derek.tv 24/7 like Justin did. This is how we win.

Oh my!

Why is Reddit always so damn angry? It makes me sad because I used to love Reddit so much.

At its prime, it was the "front page of the internet" and the go to repository of aggregate internet knowledge. Despite its decline and mass exodus of users, most who remain clinging to it today have a know-it-all god complex. So now its just a cesspool of angry akshually neckbeards who think they know better. It also happens to be full of far-left "educated" types who are "smarter" than everyone else... drain a pool and you're left with sludge.

Haven't geocached since I was a kid, might have to try this

Yeah. You should. I’d be real interested in seeing exactly where you’re located

Redditors are almost as bad as the Hacker News crowd 🤣

never participated in caching but I'm definitely going to hide some keys in nature for others to find, just because you can!
