Everything has it’s value, and it’s what you’re willing to pay for it.
But gym memberships are overpriced IMO, specially for the smaller gyms.
What price (monthly or weekly) are you willing to pay for a good gym membership?

I've been thinking about getting gym membership lately, just because using the machines at the gym would improve my form over using free weights but the advice I was given by the body builders in prison;
Gym membership is great if you are homeless, you get access to a shower and a place to rest indoors(you can't sleep overnight but most gyms do not care about people taking naps during the day)
The rowing machine is the best value for money but you don't need a gym to get big, with pullup bars, dip bars and a park bench you can train every muscle group (add weight to your body and increase reps for progressive overload.
And you won't make gains if you're not eating right and getting enough sleep.
If you disposable income (or homeless) yes do it.
As for the actual question you asked, $10-30 a month depending on the gym and what they actually have to offer.
If it's just some weights and treadmills and stationary bikes not worth paying anything.
Just need a homie in the hood
Here in the Netherlands almost all gyms moved from a monthly to a 4 weekly membership, so basically you pay an extra month per year now…
(about 30-35 euros for 4 weeks, “higher-end” gyms cost double if you want a sauna and/or swimming pool)
I don’t mind to pay extra, but the facilities should be nice, they are often crappy, dirty, not wel maintained…
AFAIK, in Belgium most gyms have a monthly subscription (but you’re stuck there for a year, looking at you Basic fit 🤡) you pay around € 25/ 30 per month, but there’s a lot of different options…
