👋🏻 This is my last note for the foreseeable future.

Reflecting on the past year, the best thing I did was quit the last traditional social media platform I was still on: Instagram.

I also took a pause from Nostr during the summer… and came to the conclusion that social media — in any form — just isn’t for me. I was diagnosed with ADHD not that long ago (I’m 40+ years old), something I knew for a long time already, but the confirmation shifted my focus quite a bit.

Over the last quarter, the focus has been on building and improving my businesses, and that’s what the plan is for 2026 as well: creating real-world value with things I’m good at and genuinely enjoy doing. Alongside that, the priority is spending more time with the people closest to me.

There’s also a plan to work on speaking skills… scary, but exciting.

So, in short: social media is no longer worth the time and energy. Brain cycles are already burning fast enough without having to process the opinions of total strangers.

Stay humble, stack sats, and remember: it’s not you, it’s me ❤️

I have those all the time…

Im using proton mail for 8 months now, there are some considerations:

On desktop you can use the mail bridge, so you can use any mail client you want. But that means running an extra piece of software.

On mobile you’re stuck with the proton mail app, no options there.

You cannot in a supported way use it with other apps or software that needs to access your mailbox for reading your or any other mailbox (for automations or automatically importing stuff etc.)

For business account users there is a way to send email via other apps or devices (think notifications, scan to email etc)

This all has to do with how your mailbox is stored encrypted on their servers.

The web mail client is decent though, if that’s your thing.

Overall I’m happy with the switch

time + energy is never free, you can borrow it, you can lend it, but someone has to pay eventually.

It’s basic physics, everything in nature costs energy, letting things grow, setting things in motion.

Only humans are arrogant enough to think they can bypass that cost by printing abstractions and pretending the underlying physics no longer apply.

So a little update on this. I end up returing the #Mudita #Kompakt, it was to minimal for my taste. Stuff I really "need" in my daily life didn't work or are not available on the Kompakt. Stuff like the Tesla app (for unlocking and driving my car without a key), And banking apps and with that paying with NFC (Apple Pay or Google Pay) is something that I use on a daily basis.

So I went back for a couple of months to my old iPhone. I have now ordered a #BigmeHighbreakPro. It's a full fledged smartphone, but with an e-ink screen, which I think can be a real daily driver, without the distraction of an regular smartphone.

I also upgraded an old mini-pc I had laying around and installed it with Fedora yesterday. It's going to be my daily driver for the next month and if I can get used to it and I can do every thing that I need to do, I will buy a new PC to replace my Mac Mini.

I've been a mac user for almost 18 years now, but I'm kinda done with Apple, it doesn't excite me anymore and I don't agree with alot of things they are doing with macOS.

Everything is down against #bitcoin in the past 5 years!
