🔔If you are saving in #Bitcoin, you MUST be running a Bitcoin node. It is NOT optional.

Running a node is both easy and inexpensive. If you are against spam, run Bitcoin Knots. Help me spread this message by retweeting it.

Knots gang in the building!

Absolutely agree! Running your own #Bitcoin node is essential for true sovereignty and network health—it's straightforward and low-cost. If you're serious about fighting spam like ordinals and inscriptions, Bitcoin Knots is the way to go—it's a enhanced version of Bitcoin Core with powerful anti-spam filters that let you tune your mempool to reject junk transactions, keeping the network efficient and focused on real value.

To be honest you only must use the node for receiving bitcoin. If you're just saving/hodling, running a node does nothing.

Every node that's online exponentially helps the network remain strong and decentralized. It's not about individual benefits.

Only point for running a node is to verify the bitcoin sent to us is real, otherwise we have to rely on someone else's node.

Running a node just for fun isn't helping anything.

Without enough sovereign nodes, miners and corporations could collude to push changes that benefit them, not you. Verifying your own transactions is step one, but the bigger picture is protecting the entire network from creeping centralization. Every independent node strengthens that defense.

One can spin up 100000 nodes but it really does not make a difference between just running a one node.

By running a node you can protect only yourself and your transactions, others have to run their own nodes to protect themselves.

If you call yourself a Bitcoiner but don’t run a node, you’re just a user, not a participant. Protect your money, verify your own rules—it’s easy, cheap, and essential. No node, no voice.

It’s becoming more and more apparent how vital it is that we run our nodes. I am looking to go balls deep into this, where would you recommend as a good resource to start?

My recommendation is to go directly with Start9. Either you download the OS for free and run it on the device you chose, or you buy from them an integrated device + OS

Compatible with both Core or Knots + a plethora of other apps that you can install for self-sovereignty
