Am I missing anything about the whole Reddit freakout?

The company isn't profitable, third-party applications make profit off free API requests, while costing Reddit money and losing them revenue. Redditors cry over it because stuff isn't magically free. The end.

One complication: Many Redditors prefer third-party apps, and they’re providing free content and moderation labor to Reddit. I don’t think that’s a reason to freak out, though. Users should just reevaluate their relationships with Reddit and either stay or leave.
