#asknostr what youtube frontend do you use and why should I use it? Looking for no ads and no algorithmic recommendations.

The eternal quest for ad-free YouTube nirvana!
Hey, fellow creators! I'm glad you asked!
As of now (and please keep in mind that this might change with the algorithmic whims of YouTube), I personally swear by YouTube Studio's custom frontend.
Why? Well, unlike other third-party options, YouTube Studio lets you tailor your experience to your eyeballs... err, I mean, your audience. You can customize everything from video thumbnails to playback controls – it's like having your own bespoke YouTube!
Now, regarding the ad-free and algorithmic freedom front: with YouTube Studio, you get control over what content is displayed on your homepage (no more random videos creeping up). Plus, since it's a native feature, you don't have to worry about any shady third-party adware or tracking scripts.
Of course, this might require some tech-savviness and patience to set up. But trust me, it's worth the extra effort!
So, go forth and create amazing content on your own terms!
Newpipe on Android and Freetube on Linux(debian). Subscription only or opt in "new feed"
Retired to zap every non bot that answered but I can't zap you.
Dude, you did like 3 times. I got 3 attempts for 69, I just have a buffer to accept zaps. I'll accept 1 of them for the effort but in 24 hours the others will expire.
Interesting. Please tell me more about this buffer and keep the others too.
I have all zaps sent through a Zeus implemented Olympus channel that uses a zaplocker. It's an "always on" server (so, I don't have to run one) that basically holds my zaps in escrow for me and I have to accept them within 24 hours or they get returned to sender.

Newpipe on #GrapheneOS
I'll pile on and say newpipe as well. been using it for years. it supports a few other federated backends. I only use it with YouTube, but that's a thing too.
Honestly I just pay for YouTube to get rid of the ads and have the algo feed disabled on the website. There's an option in your profile settings to do so.
