I think I’d want double that to look after other people’s kids everyday

Coming from a different type of culture, it never made sense to me why women go to work to earn the money to pay someone else to take care of their own kids. Now instead of raising your kids and that's it, you have to earn money, pay taxes on it, pay someone else to raise your kids, and then they also pay taxes on that money. And the person taking care of your kids could very well be earning that money to pay someone to take care of her kids. Now the government is taking taxes out of that twice instead of zero times. How does that make any sense?

Asked my accountant about it and he confirmed that most of his clients with 2+ kids would be ahead financially if the wife stayed home and raised them herself, but he can't tell them that because women have to work because "reasons." 🤷🏼‍♂️
