Agreed. There’s got to be a way to mute the spam before it happens, whether by relays or WoT…

For now, I keep muting each bot that comes along. It’s annoying. Similar problem on X with constant, meaningless reposts by “accounts” with greyed-out profile pics.

You block one, they spin up another 10 with the same name, new npub.

And this is just the beginning.

Maybe #nostr developers could limit creation of the same username - similar like on twitter you can't have two same handles.

It would also prevent accidental befriending or sending msg to the wrong accounts.
