Can’t shrink a dozen eggs… and the price shows.
Discussion
Just paid $12 for a dozen eggs that are pasture raised fed organic feed.
Kind of shocking how many people don't know the difference between regular eggs, cage-free, free-range, pasture, and organic pasture. "Cage-free" and "free-range" are complete marketing scams and most people don't look into the legal definition of what those terms imply.
The legal definition is a negotiated deception between lobbyists and the FDA.
I get my eggs from my fam. They live free, eat feed and plenty of bugs. Yolks are next level gold.
It completely changed my view point on the quality of eggs. Like, if this is what it’s suppose to look and taste like.. Wtf was I eating?
Most people need those experiences to have an epiphany
Absolutely. That's why I pay 30 cents extra per egg to make sure the eggs are from chickens that are raised in a pasture and fed certified organic feed and bugs. The nutrient difference alone of the eggs makes the extra cost worth it.
Growing up my grandma had chickens in her backyard. The eggs were so much better tasting than the white ones my mom bought from the grocery store. I remember when I would visit my grandma if I wanted her to make breakfast I had to go out to the chicken pen and get the eggs myself. Eye opening lesson at a young age.
This is the Way 🤙🏻🥚
Real eggs from real chooks that eat real food are fucking amazing
The meat is totally different as well. As a European, It always surprised me going to usa how little flavour food had without sauces all over everything. But then the differences within Europe were stark as well and then travelling in “undeveloped” countries in Asia and Africa was where I encountered the sensation of “rediscovering” flavour! The food supply is adulterated.
Not sure. I'm waiting for the B grade ones to come out. I already can't get AA at my market on grade A.
