before i knew what "nostr" meant, i thought it meant "no string"

I think I might know, but then again I might be wrong, it’s called Nostr and the app on iOS is called Damus…. Nostradamus?

it's probably from Latin "nostrum" as in French "notre" (think "Notre Dame") meaning "our"

the Dame in Notre Dame would be Virgin Mary - in Norwegian, Catholic churches are often named Vår Frue Kirke
