Day 2 Olas post.

This is a fresco showing a Minoan priestess or even Goddess attending to the flowers in the garden of life. Some archeologists say they are lilies.

The Minoan culture, a Bronze Age civilization on the Greek island of Crete (2000-1450 BC), had at least matriarchic elements in their society. The divine Mother was their all encompassing deity. Priestesses and women wore beautiful bare-breasted robes in daily life and ceremonies.

what a treasure -- I'd like to go see this some day, specially since I spend so much time in Greece

Isn't it 🙏 ?! Ah, great you're often in Greece. I hope you'll go to Crete soon! I've yet to see the Minoan sites in person myself.

These are amazingly beautiful, and the colours are still so vivid.

Crazy, ay?! This picture may have been enhanced. But still the colors are fascinating!

Beautiful. In the book I was just reading, he hypothesizes that the Minoans were the last known “goddess worshipping” (potentially mother earth) religious type civilization.

Yes, isn't it?! You got some nice reads there 😁 Mh, what he says sounds about right. Let's see what's to come.
