Who else is using "q" for quoted events instead of "e"? And why not?

I think “e” has mixed use, so it got complicated. I used “q” for quote just because it renders “correctly” on other clients.
Always use q, and don't want to replace it!

Surely not. I add an nevent to the content and an 'e' tag with a mention marker.
Clients which just want to fetch replies will also fetch quoted posts because of that e tag. That's why I prefer some other tag than e. Even better if reposts and replies had their own kinds. Kind 1 should just be root notes.
