While I believe in natural rights history has shown they mean nothing if they can’t be actively defended (this is not said in defense of the state™️)
Even when they can’t be defended I don’t think they mean nothing. It just means the State can abuse people more easily.
I should say they mean nothing in the face of a more powerful entity who doesn’t respect them.
I’m really hoping for a defense breakthrough on the back of exponential tech that could more easily defend natural rights.
