Started a whiskey vanilla maple cavendish yesterday. It’s my first attempt so hopefully it’s smokable when I’m done. I have plenty of leaf to experiment with so I’ll keep at it until satisfied.

Very interested to see how this turns out!

I second this. Might even be able to twist my arm to purchase a few ounces.

I’ll keep everyone posted on progress

What varieties of tobacco do you grow? Thinking about trying to grow some next year.

Havana 142 from Victory Seed Company is what I grow

I have tons of seeds, I could send you some if you want.

I’m looking for advice. Long story short, I’m a typical natural food appreciating homesteader that tries to stay away from man made additives. I finally quit smoking cigarettes after 38 years by using nicotine replacement, but the pouches/mints are full of other garbage. I want to grow my own tobacco for chew to ensure the purity of what I’m consuming. I live in USDA zone 7A, East Tennessee, at 700 ft elevation. What would you grow in this situation?

Anything you want. That zone can support any variety well. I suggest checking out Victory Seed Company to choose a variety you’re interested in.

Thank you I will try growing my own tobacco next year now!
