Takes a lot for the average person to give up what they’re used too. They just want messages to work, people to see their pictures, and a place to buy and sell goods.

And I can appreciate that - but within the context of respecting everyone’s right to not be the object of monetization. I’m of the opinion that I will gladly pay for services I use - I want notheing for free so long as my privacy and sovereignty are respected. This is the exact reason I deleted Facebook a dozen years ago and continue to stand fast on that principle.
