Any old computer + proxmox and install multiple servers and play around to see what you like. Also can run umbrel within it.

I have a start9 already for all things bitcoin. Looking to build something for video streaming at home. How’s the learning curve on proxmox?

Proxmox can be as easy or as complicated as you want. I would say a couple oftutoriial videos and you should have the basics down for setting things up. I use umbrel for media not for bitcoin. For media I use jellyfin app. I mount a network drive via command line and point jellyfin to it. But the point of proxmox is so that you try different servers to find what you like before setting up exactly what you want.

I’ll look into some tutorial videos. Thanks!

Take that money and buy bitcoin. Wait 1 to 2 years get a loan on yiur bitcoin build your server with that money ;)

Stay frogy

So first part is done, which way anon? Casa OS with Zima Board or NAS+Raid 😂

I've had so many problems with software RAID on Linux that I'm thinking it's time for me to give up on it and go with a hardware RAID solution instead. So if you do the RAID route, avoid zfspool and mdadm if you want to avoid the hassles of hours of reading, troubleshooting, and even some data loss when things go really bad.

Good to know! Thanks.

I was thinking of hardware NAS+RAID. Still looking into options
