Morgan Harris, Marcades Myran, and Buffalo Woman are believed to be in Prairie Green landfill by the Winnipeg police service. Rebecca Contoìs’s remains were found in Brady landfill, and the serial killer was charged with all 4 homicides. Then Linda Beardy had been found from a Brady dumpster, and her death was ruled accidental like always in many Indigenous deaths. Tanya Nepinak had also disappeared, and her murderers admitted to dumping her in a Brady dumpster, the police had searched for her for 6 days, but she wasn’t recovered. 134 Indigenous women have been pulled from the Red River in the past decades. 80+ Indigenous women gave gone missing, or found murdered along the Highway of tears. We cannot allow Indigenous women, girls and femme two spirit people to go missing, die under suspicious circumstances, and be murdered all the time. Indigenous women/girls/2S are 12x more likely to go missing than any other group of women in Canada.
