For USA there is an alternative inflation index - Chapwood Index. Looks interesting 🤔

They state that they not only improved prices calculation, but also took tax data into account! If income tax increased in some year, it also increases cost of living, in addition to price rise.

I wish such alternative inflation index existed for other countries as well!
