I'm not saying I'm right, but here's the logic.

First, I believe we exist to create. There will always be a new job, but your book has yet to exist.

With your current employer, you have the stabilty of an existing relationship, and enough sourness to drive you to write at a pace that has momentum. A new job could be a distraction from writing until it starts to sour as well.

In a decade would you be happier having published your book, or happier that you switched employers?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and taking the time to think about my situation.

You are likely correct. I had not considered your question: I would definitely want to finish writing my novel and get it to a point where it could be considered for publishing.
