Reaching the end of Atlas Shrugged and I’m really surprised with how much of this book aligns with cypherpunk/bitcoiner ideology. Especially being published back in the 50’s.

I’m dreaming of someone making an HBO miniseries or something but until then I recommend reading this one. Not an easy read, Ayn Rand’s writing style can be jarring. But it’s a really fantastic story with some enlightening life lessons.

Have you seen the movies? The first one wasn’t bad but their budgets clearly Shrunk drastically for the second two

Yeah I agree the first one was fairly well done, but 2nd and 3rd were disasters. They replaced the entire cast with each movie, such a mess. It deserves the high budget miniseries treatment

There are no movies. We don't talk about the movies.

This is the better answer 😂

It just gets better the second & third & fourth time through.

impressive that you read it more than once not that it's bad but it's just long really really long

I have read &/or listened to it like 30 times 😅

I listen whenever I run out of other books & podcasts

I bet! It is the kind of story that has hidden layers to ponder on repeat reads. But her jumping from philosophy to character dialogue makes it a hard read in my opinion

A transformative book in my life. However, Rand’s treatise on original sin gives me pause.

We agree on that. There are certainly opinions she expresses that I don’t agree with. I tell myself it’s just a product of a different time

What is it about the original sin part that you don't agree with?
