Years ago I watched a movie series by Jim Stovall, The Ultimate Gift. Basically about teaching trust fund boy to value his inheritance before receiving it. Common theme among old money and family estates, less common to us plebs who are moving into wealth. But the 'how to endure family understand the value of what's being prepared for them' is still a good question for us to ponder. You pay off their mortgage but their mindset doesn't change, so instead of opportunity they just take on new debt for other pursuits. You set up your kids for life but they squander back to zero, or worse lose the hunger for life and achievement, ending up depressed, spoiled, or both.

These are the things that weigh on my mind.

Years ago I paid off my parents debts the fiat way. It felt good but it didn't solve the root issue that got them racking up debts in the first place.

Sigh

That's sad to hear. It's been rough for me as well to give away bitcoin wallets before to family and friends only to see them want to sell them off when they show a little tiny bit of profit. I will definitely think about a way for them to earn it or at least learn something if there will be anything meaningful to inherit. 😂
