What’s excellent for you?

Good question lol. Excellent could be tarkovsky, seconds (1966), I saw the devil but it could also be Paddington and Paddington 2.

Did you see Coda?

Coda (2021)?

Yes

Is this good? The trailer seems um really terrible lol ngl

Yeah, it’s good. Imo

Might be too soppy for me... Maybe?

What’s soppy?

Overly sentimental type thing(?)

No, it’s cool. A bit sentimental, but not at all overly. Good movie

Forgot to say 🫡 thank you for your recommendation

Everything everywhere all at once was also cool for me. No problem, mate

Trailer is shit though. That’s right. On IMDB it’s rated as an 8. The movies you mentioned are 7.6 or something like that. Everything above 8 on IMBD is normally pretty good. Just a little tip

Thanks lolol

Just a film that is you know.. you finish it and think of yes that's objectively excellent lol. Not subjectively excellent. Lol. You know 💅🥰

The whale ?

Seen it:( but thanks

The gray man

🫡I started that but not sure I managed to ever finish it lol. I found it kinda dragged a bit

Fair it starts off pretty slow but gets better midway.

The luther movie also pretty good the list of recent movies i liked isnt that long lol

You know you can always ask me right?

A close friend called me a movie encyclopedia. I watch pretty much everything. Good or bad I don't care I just like to watch and talk about it 🤷🏽 all I need is a feel for what you like/what you're looking for

🥰🫵 #kinostr 🫵

I pretty much watch a similar amount of everything lol although I can't really stomach biopics. That's my kryptonite. What ahev you watched lately? I'm about to give The Evil Within a go, despite/maybe a bit because of its flaws. Definitely an interesting production story. But yeah post more about what youre watching in general lol maybe. Obvs do what you like. Hashtag searchable is great too. There's a few knocking about. I quite like #kinostr tho but I'll follow whatever really ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can do that🤷🏽

Recently I've been on a horror kick. I just watched all of the grudge movies.

Oh nice. I've seen the original only. Not sure I've seen any of the American remakes of the Asia extreme stuff 🤔 are any of them good? Lol

Good here also meaning just worth watching if not 'good' lol

Mmmm if you compare them to themselves, my opinion is that the originals are better then it gets worse as it goes on.

Ju-on the curse was ok. Ju-on r the curse 2 was better. Ju-on the grudge was amazing, ju-on the grudge 2 was maybe a little confusing but I thought was really good (compared, you'll see why in a second) then the American ones were ok, 1 ok, 2 meh, 3 oof, and the 2020 one was refreshing but meh. Then there was black ghost white ghost the beginning of the end and final chapter all of which I felt lost the plot completely. And they're was a sadako vs kayako cross over but I haven't watched it because I was like "should I do the thing movies to🤔🤔🤔"

Overall though. Compared to other films but just it's own timeline, I think they're ALL just meh. Out of 10 I think the one I rated highest was a 7🤷🏽. I guess I just don't find em all that compelling. But they do have done really cool shots and poetic reasonings behind things which is cool.

I might have only seen Ju-on the grudge. Honestly can't remember, been a while 🤔

But yeah there was a time when it was quite refreshing seeing these Asian horrors with their own sense of horror. There is a sense of the poetic and their particular aesthetics and I suppose reflections of cultural anxieties (and religiosity? That seems to be a thing) peculiar to the regions. Maybe that seems less fresh the more you see? But that's not a fault tbh.

I had no idea there was a ...Vs sadako. That *may* just be goofy enough for me to want to watch lol. Not sure lolol. I thought Pulse was p decent and the spiral one..I forget the name. Have you seen I Saw The Devil. Not really in the horror genre, but is amazing.

I think probably that's the best one. But ju-on the grudge 2 is worth it. And this is a supercut of the 2 curse movies (separately they overlap where they just replay the end of the first one in the second so someone on YouTube did this service)

https://youtu.be/Gy2AeRcOrjs

Which is basically a prequel to the grudge and pretty worth it as well🤷🏽

But again my highest rating was a 7 for what it's worth🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽

They promoted the kayako vs sadako movie at a baseball game 🤷🏽

I haven’t seen any of the Ju-on movies but I did see Ringu and its disowned sequel, Spiral. Ringu was pretty good. Spiral was a mess.

I think I've seen the original ringu. I definitely saw the American ring and the one that came out a few years ago Rings
