WhatsApp is great on Android and terrible on iOS.

X is great on iOS and terrible on Android.

These are not low budget projects.

Most users never use both and thus cannot see the shocking differences in investment between the OSs.

Multiplatform is a myth.

X is fine on Android.

Fine is not great.

I used to have videos not load.

Solution: no Bitcoin or nostr development for Apple.

Freedom protocols on freedom platforms.

If you're enjoying Amethyst on Android right now, why would you want your devs split focused? Your experience with amethyst on Android would likely suffer with their attention focused elsewhere.

Apple users deserve the crap they get. Choose freedom.

I'm sorry to here that. Graphene is best.

don't do it bro! Stay on Android!

I'm sick of my Samsung phone. That app cloud thing is so shite

If your complaints are primarily about bundled stuff, there are several Android replacement ROMs you can flash. LineageOS is probably the most normal with optional degoogling and root, but if you want a more privacy focused one, you can check out Calyx or Graphene. I think Calyx has support for more devices while Grapheme focused on more heavily securing just a few devices.

I use the PWA on android to access xwitter for a better (less advertisements) experience.

Building on a common protocol is much better that building on multiple platforms.

Damus is great on ios, amethyst is great on android. Multiplatform works great for decentralized protocols.

Yep. It's kinda the point.

I was thinking about this the other day. We have a react native app for android and ios. We don't update it often, but every time we do we spend weeks fixing platform specific bugs, updating libraries,.. basically NOT coding.

Multi platform apps break by time just passing. If something compiled 6 months ago, doesn't mean it will compile again.

So: is it worth it? For us it is because we are a small company and don't have the money to hire two devs to make two identical native apps. But it is something I'll ask for as soon as we can

Yeah, I feel you. Make sure to keep the app as small as possible. Every little option doubles the troubles.

This is why I love web apps πŸ’₯
