It always amazes me that, when you have really shitty internet, the ads always load waaayyyy faster than the actual content. Shows you how insanely broken the incentives are.

I noticed that Youtube is currently blocking a lot of alternatives like yewtu.be, LibreTubev(Android), FreeTube (desktop). This really sucks. Probably justtakes waiting for the app devs to update it to circumvent the blocking.

Pihole can't prevent youtube ads. It works by killing any DNS requests to a known ad or malware blacklist maintained by voluntary groups. That’s not the case for things like YouTube videos.
